Volunteers & Involvement
The success of The First Tee relies heavily on community involvement. At The First Tee of Central Iowa, we have a number of volunteer opportunities as well as paid part-time positions for anyone with the time, interest and desire to help. All The First Tee volunteers are role models to the youth participants by listening and providing encouragement. Volunteers and employees must consistently act as examples of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, and self-discipline.
- COACHES: Our coaches play a critical role in setting up an optimal learning environment for The First Tee of Central Iowa. Those who coach will be taught about the program’s Coaching Philosophy and given the building blocks to provide them with the necessary foundation. The First Tee offers coaches an educational tutorial that allows them to fully understand the components of program and offer a positive youth environment. Coaches are compensated for their involvement with the Summer Certification program. Interested applicants for coaching positions should contact Program Director, Philip Conover at (515) 480-4290.
